Me on the beach over the 4th of July weekend (right before I realized I had seared myself silly)... showing off what I thought then was my huge belly... ahhh the difference a few weeks can make!!! No updated pics yet, but let me tell you -- the kid is growing like a weed already. Ahhhhhhh. Posted by Picasa

Alas, the poor poor Rodeo. She served me well. Posted by Picasa

Me with legendary NFL coach Don Shula -- go ahead ask me... I know all his stats! Ok, not ALL of them, but I can tell you why 347, 16 and 1972 are important numbers!!!  Posted by Picasa

Still in Hollywood...

Hi!! It never ceases to amaze me, this bizzarro world we call Hollywood. I'm driving down the street last week, and who do I see walking out of Trader Joe's with his groceries? One John Doe. Wheee!!! I know what you're thinking... "who the hell is John Doe?" And that's why I didn't call YOU when I saw him :) Seriously, this dude is awesome. Formerly of the band X, he has made quite a name for himself as an actor (check out "Great Balls of Fire"). So yay. That same day, shopping for Lysol at my local West Hollywood Target, I spent a bit of time perusing the aisles next to Bruno Kirby... who kinda looked like I might be stalking him. But really, being pregnant and overly aware of EVERY smell in the world, I was just looking for a little canned relief. So there, Bruno -- I wasn't stalking you. Swear.

Out and about with David in Beverly Hills looking for some day-off fun (and finding nothing but overpriced t-shirts at Kitson), we parked right next to Jonathan Togo (Ryan on "CSI: Miami") - cutie!! Hightailing it out of the overpopulated, overpriced 'burb, we drove by The Ivy (where you can always see the paparazzi in their natural habitat - lurking for lunching celebs) and spotted Sela Ward having lunch on the patio. David wanted to yell out to her server to beware, as she's a notoriously bad tipper (he knows from several experiences), but sadly the windows were up. And maybe I locked the power on them so he couldn't. I still think she's a great actress. And maybe she needs to learn how to do some simple math.

It's summer, so that means only one thing in my neighborhood -- blockbuster premieres. Have I attended any? Um, no. Have my travels been influenced by the diverted traffic? Hell yeah!! I can definitely tell you that the ESPY awards were a pain for several days, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" (oh my god, funnnnnny movie -- go. now.), which was during the day & I expected to be a pain, barely registered a blip on the traffic flow. Don't expect much now until the late fall, when the holiday pics start rolling out. By that time we'll be moved out of the neighborhood.... which even though this area has completely worn me out (constant tourists, crappy traffic, totalled car, you name it), I have to admit I'll miss the excitement.

This week marked two firsts for me. I've lived here for over a year, but there are still a few must-do things I just haven't gotten around to yet. So, it's been a good week. First off, I finally got to see a movie at Grauman's Chinese. I've lived within walking distance since November, and have walked by a million times.... We went to see "Charlie" (which I've already mentioned is funny as hell - see it. NOW. Ok, you can read the rest of this first. Then go.) - it's a cool experience! I have to say, I was more than a little disappointed by the amount of commercials before the film, though. I've been spoiled by the ArcLight (and no, I still haven't seen a film in the CineramaDome -- but since it's gone digital, I'll make a point of it, thank you very much) - no commercials at the ArcLight. It's refreshing.

The other first was last night. Pregnant and hungry (go figure), we made a late-night stop at Pink's on LaBrea... now I've driven by a hundred thousand times, and any time I may have stopped, the huge lines have been a major deterrent. But, when the little boy wants a hot dog, he wants one NOW. So, inaugural visit to Pink's? Check. So we're waiting in line for some Chicago Polish dogs (ok, now I'm hungry again... damn), and who rolls up? Natalie Cole and Patti LaBelle. Evidently, sisters had a hankering for some big old loaded dogs after midnight. Decked out in their Sunday go to meetin clothes and throwin down some dogs. Hell yeah. And no, they didn't have their driver run up and grab some food -- they came in, pulled up a table, and got to business for quite a while. Good job, ladies.

I'm sure I have some more pictures to lay on you folks, so I'm off to do that. Enjoy! ;)

Namaste....
