This is the cliff we just drove over... the cliff they were pulling somebody's car up off of. What you can't see is this thing is as freaky as it gets... it's hundreds of feet high, and medievel... or just evil. It only got worse from here, but unfortunately the sun went down, so I couldn't share the sheer drops with you. I'd like to tell you I was thrilled like on a roller coaster, but in truth, I was a screaming little girl. Abject terror. I actually went white with terror. Make fun of me if you will, but just promise me if you're ever driving the PCH south through Big Sur you'll obey all traffic signs and BE CAREFUL. They pull people off the side of these mountains all the time, and they don't always make it out alive. See your earth -- admire it, love it, but most of all, maintain a healthy respect for it. You do not own, control, or deserve the majesty around us. Please don't be stupid. But really, get your butt to Big Sur pronto!!! Posted by Hello

Step outside of your little shell of a traffic pattern... there are things like this in the world, and if you never see them, you won't fight to protect them. Visit your planet... before it's gone. Posted by Hello

Big Sur -- if you haven't been, you should go. No words for this place. Posted by Hello

Or maybe this one is the Bixby Bridge... they're both really high up, and they both give me the willies!! Posted by Hello

Or maybe this one is Bixby Bridge. Either way, it's freakin high up. Gives me the willies!! Posted by Hello

The Bixby Bridge, circa 1932. Damn. Posted by Hello

David once again standing too close to the edge of a reallly high precipice. This one may have been enough for even him, I think... Posted by Hello

Cannery Row, made famous by John Steinbeck in the novel with the same name, in Monterey. I was all excited, but there's nothing more than the same tourist crap you'll find everywhere. Except, of course, for Steinbeck's Jewelers and Steinbeck Lady clothing store. Ack. Posted by Hello

The view from the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey -- what you can't see is all the Sea Otters floating around on their backs and eating... awesome. Posted by Hello

The railroad trestle from "The Lost Boys" -- so cool!!! Posted by Hello

Santa Cruz Posted by Hello

Santa Cruz, California... home of sun, surfers (those are surfers out there in the water - crazy cold bastards), and "The Lost Boys." Now, if you tell me you haven't seen THAT movie, we're gonna have to fight. So go get it now, and have you a good time. Posted by Hello

The light house at Santa Cruz -- the Surfing Museum. Like, no way. Posted by Hello

Leaving San Francisco, we took the Pacific Coast Highway all the way to Los Angeles.... wow. This is Rockaway Beach (taken from the car). Posted by Hello

A San Francisco cable car. Finally, cuz I was freezin my tuckus off waiting for that thing. The best part? We took the wrong car and ended up blocks from where we needed to go. Ahhhhhh adventure. Posted by Hello

This guy has the right idea -- his own little raft away from the boistrous herd.  Posted by Hello
