10,829. That's how many pennies I had accumulated in my big glass penny jar. Do you know how much 10,829 pennies weigh? If you know, please tell me -- I'll tell you, it's damn heavy. For once, Coinstar was worth it.

Not much to report from the work front, except I got the once over from Jason Lewis, aka Smith Jerrod on Sex and the City. I have to admit, I got a little sweaty. After all, I've seen all this boy has to offer (and you have to, if you've seen the show).

Busy moving... should be done on Wednesday, I hope -- I can't actually see the Hollywood sign from my balcony (it's on the other side of the building, alas), but I can see the Starbucks around the corner. Caffeine only a stone's throw away...

:) Go to sleep, dream beautiful dreams... send love and good thoughts to my friend Mary who lost her father recently and whose mother is going through a tough illness... think some happy twinkly purple sequiny thoughts about Judi... give yourself a big hug and a kiss and have a scoop of ice cream - with sprinkles.

Much love to you all -- I won't tell you how to vote, but please make sure you do. It's so important, especially for those of you in the "swing" states (hint hint, my OHIO and FLORIDA friends...) - I just got my California voter registration card and am ready to put it into action.

The rain here has ended, and we're left with crisp fall-like weather. Quite unexpected, and very much appreciated. I'm really excited about moving, and in a matter of weeks, I get to travel to San Francisco for the first time in 13 years for Thanksgiving. Maybe I'll look up some old friends while I'm there...

Off to bed -- have to get up early and get my car fixed. Ahhh - the necessities of life. A thought here -- if your bed is not the slice of heaven it ought to be, get your fanny out and buy something special to make it fabulous: a foam eggshell mattress, a new set of sheets, soft fluffy pillows... splurge on the good stuff!!

Enough from my soap box :) Sweet dreams and sweeter daydreams!!

Namaste...

I have been very bad and have left you hanging for sooo long -- I'm sorry!!! Well, kiddies, here's a couple of weeks of celeb sightings -- hang on!! Let's see, Scott Foley has been coming in again, sometimes with Elizabeth Berkely, sometimes alone (and no, we don't think they're dating). Benicio del Toro has come in a few times in the last few weeks, and let me tell you, he's pretty cool. He's got that great gravelly voice, and hangs out in all his scruffiness. Not a lot of Hollywood pretention there. Jason Hervey, of Wonder Years fame stopped in for lunch (looks exactly the same, just like Fred Savage did -- reunion anyone?). I had the pleasure of waiting on Steve Carell (Anchorman, The Daily Show) -- he was much quieter than I would have expected -- it was cool anyway, I know how crazy that dude can be. Linda Cardellini (ER, Scooby-Doo) came in for some dinner, and the other night I saw Marcia Cross, from Melrose Place and most recently, Desperate Housewives. D.L. Hughley (sp?) stops by from time to time, as does Jon Lovitz (David waited on him the other night -- he was much more subdued than usual... no batshit craziness this time). I waited on Erin Everly the other night, daughter of Don Everly, erstwhile wife of Axl Rose - she's got a couple of really beautiful kids now. And, last night, one Ludacris graced our little restaurant with his presence. Now that was cool. Can't get the damn Usher song out of my head, tho....

So once again, I feel betrayed by L.A. weather. It's raining! It's been raining for 3 days!! And it's cold!! I was told September and October were nice and warm.... and now they're telling me this is unusual. Bummer. Especially since my car window is broken and won't roll up - now I have one of those really swanky plastic sheets taped to the window so I don't get wet. Oh yeah, I've gone Hollywood.

I'm moving over the next week, to the Hollywood & Highland area. Not the pinnacle of swankiness, but a novelty nonetheless. I'll only be in the area for a few months until we find a bigger place, so maybe I won't be there long enough to be jaded by the constant flux of tourists...

Stay dry, stay warm, keep the light on in your soul... isn't it all just so beautiful?
:) Namaste...

My sweet Cali kitties!! That's Miss Siouxsie in the front, in all her fatness, and Sydney bringing up the rear... yes, no claws, no teeth, and 14 years old... still kickin it!! They're here enjoying the last few days of solitude before we move next week -- and join 3 more cats - ack!!! Posted by Hello

The Cal v. USC football game at the Coliseum last Saturday... 90,000 folks sittin in the sun watching a kick-ass team beat itself. Oh well, they're still talking about Cal in the Rose Bowl (vs. Purdue... come on out west, Daddy!!!).  Posted by Hello

We drove all around the canyon trying to get close to the Hollywood sign... no such luck, but we found this amazing park where you can play right under it!! Posted by Hello
